Halloween Night
a poem by Laura Pfalz

The ghosts come out,
in the graveyard,
dancing about.
The gates stand guard.

The reaper comes,
like sudden death.
The cold air numbs,
catching your breath.

The darkness hits.
Pumpkin is light.
Be careful, it's
Halloween Night.

This was a poem I wrote as an assignment in highschool, where I had to use at least one example of simile, metaphor, and personification.  I found it in a box, and thought it would make a nice addition to the site.
